Watch the trailer for Ifeanyi Michael’s The Foreigner’s God

Ifeanyi ‘IFAN’ Michael just released the first teaser trailer for his highly anticipated period drama, The Foreigner’s God, and it looks tasty. In the teaser, we see Toni Tones, fresh off her stunning performance in Kemi Adetiba’s King of Boys, delivering the goods.

The star-studded film is set in 1947 Enugu and it is a story that explores love and witchcraft in the colonial era.

At the peak of the colonial era Nigeria, English documentary photographer Pepper Claude, following a tale of the supernatural, journeys into the heart of Igbo land in search of a story. All goes well until his bodyguard mysteriously disappears and he falls in love with one of the culprits—Anya, an accused witch living under subhuman conditions in a witches’ camp in the heart of the jungle.

The film’s enviable cast includes veterans such as Pete Edochie, Sam Dede, Onyeka Onwenu, and Eucharia Anunobi. We are curious to see Sam Dede’s performance in this period piece after his disappointing performance in the historical drama, 1929. Other cast members include Toni Tones, Ini-Idima Okojie, Lala Akindoju, Toyin Abraham, Henry Brinton Coxe, and Bam Bam.

It is obvious IFAN has a thing for period dramas—probably to flex his designer skills—he also produced and did the costume design for the nostalgic Lotanna.
