As a result of the influx of TV  money, it’s safe to say the Premier League is seeing the greatest volume of investment since its inception. Looking at the highest earners, some trends stand out: Strikers by virtue of their proximity to the goalposts feature heavily. In line with their general understated nature, players of the defensive variation feature less. There are two goalkeepers and no defenders.
