Nigerian International superstar Wizkid has released Bad To Me, his first official single of the year.
Bad To Me is an Amapiano infused track that offers a sneak peak into Wizkids forthcoming album More Love, Less Ego. Produced by P2J and Sammy Soso, Bad To Me follows Wizkids last project, Made In Lagos (Deluxe) which doubles as the longest charting Afrobeats album on Billboard.
On his latest release, Wizkid rides the trending Amapiano wave and incorporates crowd vocals making it a sure party banger. Bad To Me, Wizkids first release in two years highlights his versatility as he switches up the tempo, a step away from the mellowness offered by Made In Lagos.
Wizkid, who is currently one of the biggest artists from Nigeria is set to drop his fifth studio album More Love, Less Ego later this month. The bar for the much awaited MLLE is pretty high considering the success of Made In Lagos which carried the hit single Essence featuring Tems. Essence quickly became the first Nigerian song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and climbed to top ten after the remix featuring Justin Bieber.
As expected, Wizkids latest drop received mixed reactions, with some fans praising the artist for switching up his style while others criticised the Amapiano infusion on Bad To Me.
With the release of Bad To Me, anticipation continues to ride regarding the direction of Wizkid’s coming album. If this single is anything to go by, we might be getting a collection of party bangers just in time for Detty December.
