While Sounds from the Other Side was a blend of musical influences from across the globe, much of the talk locally suggested that Wizkid’s Nigerian audience was starting to feel a bit alienated from the singer. With a dual market push, there will always come times when one takes precedence. At the moment, it looks like Wizkid’s focus is on the Nigerian market. In the last week, he has released Medicine, Odoo and now a remix to the former comes with the help of Phyno and Flavour.
The trio are a match made in heaven, each doing justice to a masterful Masterkraft beat that is in tune with the zeitgeist of the Nigerian music industry.
With this latest stream of new music, Wizkid’s message to his fans and doubters alike is clear: Starboy still has the medicine.
