After reintroducing himself as a producer-turned-Chocolate City artist with his single titled Dada, Young Jonn cements his transition with his new EP Love Is Not Enough (L.I.N.E). The roller coaster relationship-themed 5-track project takes the listener on a musical journey of love at first sight to the inevitable acceptance that lovers are better off as friends.
As expected from a top-notch producer, Young Jonn’s musical production and creative direction on (L.I.N.E) is stellar, but even better are the heartfelt lyrics, and effortless vocals which allow for an easily memorable song. The project kicks off with 32 which expresses the undiluted happiness that comes with new puppy love. This is followed by his newest release Dada, already a fan favourite with its catchy repetitive hook — “Only you fit do me dada”.
The narrative of unending love continues in Next To You. Assisted by American R&B lover boy, VEDO, Young Jonn serenades listeners with sultry and pleasant vocals. The tone quickly changes after he decides it is best they remain as friends in Just Friends. This is followed by Normally where Young Jonn laments about his missing love now that he is in the friendzone.
On making Love Is Not Enough, Young Jonn says;
“This project has been a long time coming. I was only able to produce music for others like Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Naira Marley and others because I was too shy, but I think I’m ready now. Love is great, Love is necessary, Love is beautiful, but Love is not enough.”
