John Saviours Udomboso, fondly known as Young Jonn “The Wicked Producer” has made a name for himself as a notable Afro-pop producer, singer/songwriter by working on the songs that have laid the foundation for what we now call street music in Nigeria. From Naira Marley’s Mafo, Olamide’s Story for the Gods and Don’t Call Me by Lil Kesh; this award-winning musical genius has certainly made his mark in the Nigerian music industry since the mid-2000s.
Despite having an enviable catalogue many can only dream of, Young Jonn is ready for his next act – being an artist. He begins the transition from producer to artist by signing an Artist Recording Agreement with Chocolate City and putting out new music. He officially reinvents himself as a ‘new’ artist with his first single called Dada.
Offering listeners a taste of the new Young John, Dada is an instant fan-favourite with feel-good vibes and a catchy repetitive hook. Using the impressive skills acquired during his decade-long run in the music industry, the single projects his versatility and establishes him as an excellent artist overall. On the inspiration for the new single, he says, “Dada is an open expression of my artistry and how I can make so much beautiful music.”
Dada, off his upcoming Love Is Not Enough Vol. 1 EP, is currently streaming on all platforms. His new EP is set to be released on April 1, 2022.
