Slowly but steadily, Nigerian Hip hop artist, Yung6ix has been rising through the ranks with a slew of well spaced weighty hits including once anthem Blessings and Everything Gucci under his belt. In his usual laidback swagger, he carries on this month after an otherwise slow year, to further help push the envelope with an attempt at revolution titled Introduction To TrapFro. As the eponymous title suggests, the eleven-track project heralds the emergence of a new sub-genre which is a fusion of Trap and Afrobeats.
With guest appearances from Sinzu, Peruzzi, Dammy Krane and noticeably fellow south-south rapper, Erriga, Yung6ix delivers another worthy body of work which serves as his third studio album, earmarking the resilient essence of his decade old career spent attempting to set himself apart from the usual.
On Wake Up, the project’s introductory track, Yung6ix shows the lyrical prowess that has guaranteed his relevance from 2009 till date. An attitude that sets the tone from the remaining ten tracks resulting in a windy but impactful journey.
Introduction To TrapFro is also accompanied by the landscape one of its better singles, Energized, which sees Yung6ix showing off his words, woman and originality in a myriad of scenes that capture the innate freshness of LA and his creative genius.
