Buzzing Afro-fusion artiste, Zahzah, has released his first single of 2019 titled Sundown. On the song, Zahzah is invested in winning over a muse that appears distant and unresponsive despite his best attempts.
The song blends RnB and Afrobeats influences in different phases of its composition that reflects Zahzah’s talent for matching vibes. Born and bred in Lagos, he grew up listening to a wide range of musicians and consequently, has benefitted from the diversity of sounds in Nigeria’s cultural melting pot.
Sundown was produced by Kel P and the sparse production accentuates the natural range and trappy lyricism of Zahzah who half-sings and begs his muse for her love and attention. The video is a colourful affair that shows Zahzah in a seaside location that features a beautiful backdrop of rocky formations and Mickey Mouse.
Since starting music professionally four years ago, Zahzah has been on a steady and consistent rise that does not show a sign of letting up, the computer engineering graduate is grateful for the opportunity to put his music on the map, “Putting my music out there and actually knowing there are lots of people who roll with my sound makes me happy,” he says.
With plans for a project in 2020, Zahzah has an eye on the price and Sundown is only the first part of his plot for world domination.
