5 Nigerian Music Videos You Need To See From Last Week

Posted on
Week in, week out, Nigerian musicians thrill their fans to new music and videos. There is so much quality content coming out of the country and the videos that dropped last week were no exception.
In no particular order, here are five videos you need to see from last week:

1. Burna Boy – Onyeka

Burna Boy dropped the video to Onyeka, another outstanding track from his grammy nominated album, Twice As Tall. He plays the role of a loved-up partner in the DK directed video with the same girl from his On the Low video.

2. Falz – Squander feat. Niniola

Falz adds another feather to his hat as he joins Olu The Wave in the director’s chair for the video to his Amapiano joint featuring Niniola. The star-studded video effectively does justice to the song as it portrays flamboyant spending in an owambe setting. Falz also continues his overt and covert activism as he throws subtle shade at corrupt government officials by employing symbolism and pseudonyms to his advantage.

3. Ajebo Hustlers – Pronto feat. Omah Lay

Ajebo Hustlers and Omah Lay served the audio and video to their highly anticipated Port Harcourt homecoming single, Pronto. While admitting to a feeling of love and lust for the woman they sing about, the trio does not fail to connect to their South-South roots through the use of names and slang which solidify their claim.

4. Teni – For You feat. Davido

Teni and Davido play partners in love and crime in the Dammy Twitch-directed music video. If the video were about thirty minutes longer, it would have passed for a short film as both artists complement each other’s vibrancy and energy in their little prison break. Davido is the evil genius while Teni plays the love interest he successfully breaks out of prison.

5.Masterkraft – Hallelu feat. Bella Shmurda and Zlatan

Following the recurrent theme of most street songs, Bella Shmurda and Zlatan sing praises to God for helping them conquer their foes and excelling blissfully despite all the bad energy and negative publicity that comes their way. The video does justice to the high-energy song as it shows both artists in their element and a party setting, ideal for the Amapiano driven song. Masterkraft, the brains behind the viral hit appears briefly in the video to give room for the main acts of the day.
