In a market where many artists pursue popularity with their music and often end up sounding like one another, Adekunle Gold is a fresh offering of traditional influences in the mainstream. After breaking into the scene with Olamide’s backing and under YBNL with tracks like Orente and Sade, Gold has gone independent and worked intelligently while churning out the music over the past year. His second album, About 30 builds on his debut project and is another reminder that Adekunle Gold will never try being like any of your faves but instead create his own refreshing and essential brand of music.
