On the 26th of October, Africa’s largest fashion event, Lagos Fashion week kicked off its 22nd edition at the Federal Palace Hotels in Ikoyi. The event saw our superstars in attendance: Mavin signees; Magixx, BoySpyce, and former Big Brother Naija housemates; Dotun, Saskay, Emmanuel, Groovy and Allysyn. Your favourite celebrities joined the models to strut the runway in beautiful African fashion couture.
Here are all the celebrities that walked the runway at the Lagos Fashion Week.
Dotun
Ex-Big Brother Naija LevelUp housemate was seen on day 2 of the Lagos Fashion week rocking African fashion brand, Cute-Saint fashion SS23 collection, ‘Omo Eko’. Clad in a black two-piece attire with prints and nude flip flops, the former reality star held the audience’s attention as he walked the runway.
Saskay
After her debut at Lagos Fashion Week last year, Big Brother Naija: Shine Ya Eyes housemate made a return on day 2 of the Lagos Fashion week this year. Dressed in a multi-coloured checked dress and red and black striped stockings by Cynthia Abila, Saskay left the audience in awe on Saturday.
Magixx
Singer, Magixx represented African brands, Rick Dusi and Gëto at the Lagos Fashion week on Friday. For Rick Dusi, he donned a cream shirt and brown trousers, and for Gëto he wore a yellow shirt and trousers with a green net-like tulle around him.
Emmanuel
Former Big Brother Shine Ya Eyes housemate, Emmanuel was spotted representing fashion brand, Cute-Saint on Friday. This is not surprising as the former reality star has always had a modeling career. In 2019, he emerged the 10th Mr Ideal Nigeria, and the first Nigerian to win Mr Africa International pageant. Wearing a mustard jacket and red trousers, Emmanuel thrilled the audience when he walked on the runway.
Groovy
Groovy, also known as the man of the season, described the Lagos fashion week as “amazing” after walking for his favorite designers. The ex-Big Brother Naija LevelUp housemate is not a stranger to walking the runway as he has previously modeled at Lagos Fashion week in 2017. So far, he walked the runway in collections from Cute-Saint and JZO on Thursday, and Emmy Kasbit on Friday. On his fashion experience, he said, “I have been modeling for a long time. I am not new to fashion week as I attended the 2017 LFW”.
Allysyn
Before Big Brother Naija: LevelUp, a reality TV show that introduced Allysyn to us, Allysyn was a professional model. A few months after the Big Brother Naija show ended, Allysyn modeled at the Lagos Fashion week on Friday. She had the crowd cheering after cat-walking at the runway wearing a long cream dress with thigh-high slit from designer, Rick Dusi.
BoySpyce
Singer and songwriter, BoySpyce walked the runway for African couture; Pepper Row and Bloke at the Lagos fashion week on Saturday. Rocking his blonde hair, he wore a multi-coloured striped suit for Pepper Row and a white two-piece with blue, green and red footprint marked on it for Bloke.
Denrele Edun
Television and events host, Denrele was one of the highlights of the final sessions of the Lagos fashion week showcase held on Saturday. Representing Lush hair, Denrele fascinated the audience when he walked the runway in a grey suit, silver boots, and a gigantic hair-do styled by Lush hair. The self-proclaimed ‘runway assassin’ left the crowd raving after flaunting different poses.
