Amaarae Shares Polychromatic Video For Sensual Single ‘Like It’

Two years since her debut, Amaarae has already established herself in a unique space in the industry. She has collaborated with Nigeria’s alternative superstars like Odunsi and made two appearances on Santi’s sophomore album Mandy and the Jungle. Beyond working in the alternative space, she has also worked with Afrobeats heavy hitters like Nigeria’s Wande Coal and Ghana’s Stonebwoy, all moves which show the versatility of her sound. Fresh off the release of her sophomore effort this year, Like It, the whispery voiced singer revives the potency of the track’s sensuality with its video.

Directed by David Nicol-Sey, the video like the track’s narrative seeks to draw its viewers out of the ordinariness of this world like it does Amaarae herself to an other-worldly dimension where along with the singer, we explore various dimensions in sync with the track’s steamy narrative.

Like a scene out of American Horror Story, the video flows into dimension after dimension featuring gender-fluid scene extras hinged on avant-garde elements and even more abstract backdrops.

Amaarae is clearly on a journey and the polychromatic video for Like It is just another highlight of it.
