Chip, Maleek Berry And Not3s Give Us The Best Of Afrobeats on Chip’s TEN10 Album

In what sums up his fourth Album, UK based Rapper, Chip formerly known as Chipmunk dishes a 10 track album of manifold lyricism cutting across the adventurous lifestyle of the 27 year old who has been on top of his game; musically and otherwise for the past ten years. The Tottenham MC who is not one to shy away from experimental sounds, has been leaning towards Afrobeat and Dancehall among a host of others in recent times and this time, he presents his evolution as a dense, gripping and swayful plaque as he confiscates our attention and alters our minds with the signature skillful swagger and gallant truth telling of a topnotch grime act, in a variety of afrobeat influenced tracks (among others) highlighted in two singles featuring Nigerian men of the hour, Not3s and Maleek Berry who recently featured Chip on new single; Love U Long Time.

The first Afrobeat influenced track on the album is CRB Check; a track bordering on mid and uptempo which features Not3s and is accompanied by vivid, scenic visuals depicting both artistes confessing their desires to guard their hearts. As they take us through well plotted avant garde sceneries all smiles, we get a completely different feel of their seamless lax punchlines and flows.

Chip takes things further on Human; a perfect fusion of Dancehall and Afrobeat. The intoxicating record finds Maleek, Chip and Kranium harmonizing and delivering hard hitting but lusty lines matched with syrupy vocals over a body conscious, head nodding instrumental comprising bass drums and electro synths.

One of our favorite things about Chip is how he continues to evolve beyond the confines of Grime music as time goes on and TEN10; a project chock full of A-List features including JME, Frisco and B Young, which might as well be a 10/10 for an artiste of his calibre is proof of this.
