Global Afrobeats star CKay has returned with African Girls, a new collaborative single featuring emerging singer Kiddcard3r. It is set for release this Friday, 22 May, 2026.
Coming off one of the most culturally transformative periods of his career, CKay’s newest release arrives at a moment of evolution beyond the intimate records that first introduced him to Nigerian and global audiences alike.
Over the last few years, the multi-platinum singer-songwriter has gradually built one of the most distinctive rhythm-driven catalogs in contemporary Afrobeats. Records like BODY, featuring Afro-pop’s latest superstar, Mavo, have dominated charts, streaming platforms, nightlife spaces, and clubs across Africa and beyond. BODY previously held the record for the longest running No. 1 song in Spotify Nigeria history.
With African Girls, the Brits, iHeartRadio, MOBO, and American Music Awards nominee seeks to further that momentum.
Built around Mara-inspired bounce and a distinctly street-conscious energy, African Girls pushes deeper into the rhythmic direction that has quietly reshaped CKay’s music. His goal is simple: maintaining the melodies while still expanding his music into more dancefloor-ready settings.
Kiddcard3r (also known as Kidd Carder) brings a raw edge and that sharpens the record even further, forging a collaboration that’s simultaneously in touch with Nigerian street-hop and globally accessible. It won’t be Ckay’s first time embarking on such a decisive collaboration, recalling Watawi (feat. Davido, Focalistic, and Abidoza).
Ckay aims to further shape himself as one of Afrobeats’ most versatile and unpredictable artists. And with this new single, he hopes to capture that image of emotionally mature dynamism, fully.
