Custodian Fashion Police: MTV MAMA 2015

On the 19th of July 2015 in Durban, South Africa, the MTV (Music Television) Africa Music Awards took place with brilliant performances from artistes such as NeYo, Jhene Aiko, TuFace, Davido and many more.

Simi Badiru and Feyikemi Akin-Bankole have looked at the outfits worn by some of the celebrities present and made some judgements.

Absolutely loved Cassper Nyovest and Jhene Aiko’s outfits! It takes a brave man like Cassper to wear such and pull it off well. Trust Jhene to “kill ’em” music and fashion wise.

Suits

Emmanuel Ikubese kept it simple and classy! However, that tie didn’t really do him justice. OC Ukeje’s outfit is perfect… without the hat, that is. Did not expect any less from D’banj, a very eye-catching blazer right there.

Colours

Seyi Shay’s dress wasn’t fantastic, however she managed to pull the outfit off with her hair. You can see the Showgirls esque look she was going for but the shoes and purse did her no justice. Yemi Alade did not look bad at all: different and stylish.

LOVED Pearl Thusi’s sky blue dress. Stunning. Neyo and Patoranking pulled off the blue tuxedos neatly. As for Joselyn Dumas, that jumpsuit really accentuated her curves. Looks like Team Blue’s in the lead.

Flavour’s outfit wasn’t too bad. Nice combo. Iyanya’s burnt orange suit was pretty decent too! Teams Red and Orange don’t seem to be doing bad either.

Evidently, you can’t really go wrong with black, can ya? Moozlie and Stephanie Coker looked adorable in those dresses! Phyno and TuFace gave us the “I didn’t try my best but still killed ’em” look. Team Black beating Team Blue? Hmm

This year, as every year, we had some really odd outfits…

Best Dressed

Some of the best dressed this year were Pearl Thusi and Patoranking. I guess Team Blue is the winning team this year.
