Established in 2018, Femme Africa first introduced itself to the world via its all female multi genre musical concert known as the ‘The Showcase’. Designed to amplify female talent in the “upcoming phase” who needed a willing audience to engage with and the opportunity to build their artistic chops, it became a coronation ceremony of sorts with headliners like Tems, Lady Donli and Efe Oraka.
Building on from that platform, its seeking an immersive festival experience with Femme Fest. Slated for December 12th 2021 at the Amore Gardens, Lekki, It will bring together an all-female lineup starring: Ayra Starr, Teni Entertainer, Lady Donli, Efya, Fave, Liya, Ria Sean, Wavy The Creator, Bella Alubo, Deto Black, SGaWD, Tomi Owo, Eziemela, Somadina, Solis and Merry-Lyn. It will be soundtracked by an all-female Dj line up featuring DJ Honeeay, DJ Dayzee and DJ Sensei Lo while Tomike Adeoye and Valerie Ike will host. Attendees at the festival will also have the opportunity to exclusively shop from female owned brands at the Vendor Village. The festival is powered by Platform Capital, Diatom Impact and Unicorn, and supported by Lipton, LIRS and Red TV.
In the context of the always relevant need to create a level playing field within the entertainment industry, Femme Fest is welcome and could become one of the finer curative pieces of the busy holiday season.
