#FitnessFriday – Disciplining Yourself For A Flat Stomach

Posted on

A lot of people think that exercise is the only way to get a flat stomach. Although you do need to exercise if you want a flat stomach, there are other factors that you have to consider, especially when it comes to what you put in your mouth! Several foods contain gluten, which tends to make you bloated and unfortunately it pops up in everything from salad dressing to couscous to vodka! Feeling like there’s no way to escape it?

The first step towards a flat stomach is discipline. You have to learn to control what you eat, how much you eat and the times at which you eat. Although there is gluten in practically everything that we consume, if you stick to a gluten-free diet for just one week, you’ll see amazing results. But because of how hard it is to escape gluten, if you stick to a diet that has minimal gluten intake for four weeks, you’ll also see amazing results.

So what should you include in your diet and lifestyle to help you get that slim, flat and toned stomach?

  • Green tea (increases fat burning and improves physical performance).
  • Goji berries (better quality of sleep and faster weight loss).
  • Lemon water (stimulates your digestive system reducing bloating).
  • Couscous (a healthier carb for those who cant escape gluten!).
  • Soy milk (promotes weight loss and serves as a good replacement for regular milk).
  • Eggs (high in protein which also promotes weight loss).
  • Almonds (eating almonds reduces hunger, lowering your overall calorie intake).

Gym exercises:

  • Engage in cardio at least three times a week to raise your heart rate and burn calories.
  • Perform abdominal exercises such as planking or sit-up’s, for at least twenty minutes a day.
  • Work with a stability ball! Stability balls are a great way to perform crunches and are said to be more effective than performing crunches on a mat.
  • Sign up for Zumba classes – Zumba is a fun way to burn calories without even realising how much you’ve burnt and how much time has past by.

Don’t wait till Monday and use the usual excuse of “I’ll start next week”. If you really want it, go get it! Happy #FitnessFriday!
