The popular motorcycle transportation system, Gokada, has announced a temporary shutdown over the next two weeks. Gokada CEO, Fahim Saleh said via Medium that the app and other services will be disabled and bikers will be unable to take trips during this period.

In the same post, Saleh attributed the shutdown to the need to address issues that bikers faced in the course of fulfilling their duties. The two week break will also be used as a training period for bikers on; navigation, customer service, hygiene, safety and traffic laws. The company will also provide free maintenance for bikes and expanded health care during this time. Services will resume on the 26th of August.
