The AMVCA has long been the gold standard for celebrating African storytelling. For its 12th edition, Guinness stepped up as a key sponsor alongside headline sponsor Don Julio, helping co-create the night’s most talked-about moments. With the brand’s full weight behind the festivities, the event felt less like a standard awards show and more like a bold festival of African excellence.
Fashion is the heartbeat of the AMVCA, and this year, Guinness put the power in the hands of the fans. The Guinness Most Rated Best Dressed Award turned the Black Carpet into a digital arena where the public had the final say. After over 25,000 votes, Sultana and Faith Adewale emerged as the night’s style icons. Both winners brought a distinct intentionality to their looks — Sultana with a look defined by grace and quiet confidence, Faith arriving bold in a military-inspired silhouette. Their ₦1 million cash reward was a clear nod to the creativity and confidence that define Afropop culture.
The Guinness Black Carpet was a bold, immersive space where every look was fully seen, captured, and celebrated. It created a space where fashion could be fully appreciated, photographed, and celebrated in real time. It set a beautiful tone for the evening while raising the bar for everything that followed, ensuring the momentum never dipped. Guinness signalled its respect for the technical mastery behind the camera as well, highlighting the technical brilliance behind filmmaking. By sponsoring the Best Director category, awarded to Akinola Davies Jr. for My Father’s Shadow, Guinness celebrated the visionaries behind the lens who truly shape our narratives.

The night was punctuated by raw, undeniable talent as Tiwa, Fave, and BNXN took the stage. Their performances bridged the gap between cinema and sound, delivering the kind of commanding, headline-worthy energy the night deserved. From the interactive fan lounge to the official after-party, Guinness ensured that the 12th AMVCA wasn’t just a ceremony to be watched, but an experience to be felt. It was a night for bold style, sharp vision, and the kind of cultural pride that stays with you long after the lights dim.
