Off his critically acclaimed album, the sonically colorful rare., comes the anticipated equally vibrant video for one of the album’s standouts, the Runtown assisted Star Signs.
Chockfull of quotable lines that have had their fair share of fame in social spheres, alte and otherwise, Star Signs the video visually follows an avant-garde plot that only creatives of Odunsi’s calibre can cook up.
With directorial assist from Candles, Odunsi (The Engine), Runtown and their band of merry men and women take us on a journey that directly taps into Lagos’s social life, particularly ‘owambe’ culture.
Although juxtaposed with several alternative elements, Odunsi’s desire to express his love for the Yoruba party culture comes to life in the carefully crafted video based on said party culture, 80s disco life and above all budding alte elements.
The video for Star Signs is yet another indication of the extent of Odunsi (The Engine)’s creativity, one that has taken him places and will continue to make ways for his blossoming brand.
