Oghenekaro Etebo Completes Five Year Deal to Stoke City

22 year old Super Eagles midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo has completed a five year deal to recently relegated English side, Stoke City from Portuguese club Feirense.

The box to box midfielder who holds a spot on the Nigerian World Cup team was expected to complete a move to a side in either the Bundesliga or Premier League and so his deal to Stoke is a shocker for many.

Stoke’s Chief Executive, Tony Scholes said: “I’m particularly pleased that he took the time to look beyond our current league status and understand who we are as a club before choosing us ahead of current Premier League and Bundesliga club.”

In 2015, Etebo emerged as a player to watch after emerging as the 2015 CAF Most Promising Talent while lacing up in the colors of Warri Wolves.

The deal to Stoke will cost the Potters £6.35m.
