Pasuma makes a comeback with a Davido feature on Afrobeat- Fuji hybrid ‘Amen’

Last year, Nigerians witnessed the rising trend of the inclusion of a DMW member or members in at least one in every ten songs in rotation. The saturation of the label in every niche and by any means seemed like a priority to them which is why it comes as no surprise that Fuji Legend; Pasuma whose sound is worlds apart from the average Afrobeat sound, enlists none other than Davido for his first single of the year titled Amen. This comes after the duo were tapped for Guccimaneeko’s hit single; No Case.

Perhaps released as a ploy to break into mainstream music or just an added flavor to his already rich sound, Pasuma goes all out with Amen.

Reminiscent of his flow on Eko Ile, Pasuma treads the path of an Afropop star, a feature he shares equally with Davido whose verse and vibe-y hook is the yang to Pasuma’s Fuji inflected delivery.

Veterans in the industry have hacked the key to staying relevant in the industry which is to team up with reigning artists and this very dicey move is most times laudable. Though we’re yet to glean the reception of this single, it’s very likely it will become a hit, especially in certain corners of Lagos.
