Peruzzi Shares Two-Sided Sophomore Album ‘Rum & Boogie’

Posted on

In just about four years, Peruzzi was able to earn his name and social standing by moving ranks from an obscure position in the industry to one that supports his role as a notable prodigy, proving he’s not a one-hit-wonder and occasionally delivering hits, solo and otherwise. He’s moving quickly towards his peak and to aid his movement, celebrate just how far he’s come and prove himself more, he shares Rum & Boogie, his two-part sophomore album.

Peruzzi is no novice, his artistry is nuanced and phased so much so that Rum & Boogie carries these features, the first sign of their presence being the album’s two parts. Part one referred to as disc one is chock full of love songs. The Peruzzi who’s a lover boy is front and center here and while romance is the dominant theme, his sound is not constrained. The range of producers he works with including frequent collaborator, Speroach makes it sound diverse. In the second part, we find Peruzzi in his element, he delivers with certainty majorly because the subjects are familiar, relatable, and realistic. Songs like Kalakuta and Feeling Good front his cheekiness while others like the earlier released fan favorite, Southy Love finds him reverting to his lover boy persona.

Peruzzi is sure of who he is now and on Baddest which he enlists two maestros in their own right, Don Jazzy and Phyno, he does not fail to let us know he has come into his own which is another notable feature of Rum & Boogie. Much different from Huncho Vibes, this release is everything we need to know that he has grown, and it’s laudable.
