President Muhammad Buhari has officially declared his intention to run for second term in 2019.
The intention of the president was made public via a statement by the President’s Personal Assistant on New Media Engagement, Bashir Ahmad on Twitter.
“President Muhammadu Buhari has just officially announced his intention to seek re-election in 2019.”
The announcement was also made through the official Presidency Twitter handle:
“President @MBuhari has just announced his intention to seek the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and contest for a second term of Office in the 2019 elections.”
Buhari’s official declaration has therefore put to bed the guessing game as to his intentions to retain his position beyond May 29 2019.
