The fresh prince of Nigerian rap, Psycho YP has made an epic comeback with his latest drop Bando Diaries.
Bando Diaries is coming two months after the release of Midlife Crisis/WYDTM, YP’s two track project featuring Azanti. On Bando Diaries, Psycho YP tag teams with fellow rapper Odumodu Blvck delivering a sensational record, reinstating his position as the best in the game.
YP’s newest drop follows the May Beef between him and Lagos based rapper, DNDSection. In response to Psycho YP’s claim that no rapper in the country is currently going harder than him, DNDSection released a track titled Best Rapper In Africa, taking Apex Village — Nigeria’s premier hip hop collective headed by Psycho YP, captive. YP rose to the challenge, dropping a response almost immediately. The duo went back and forth, with other rappers weighing in the conversation.

Produced by serial hit maker Jiggy, Bando Diaries uncovers what goes on the streets away from prying eyes. Psycho YP and Odumodu drop bar for bar talking about how rough life in the bando is and how their mothers can never find out the truth — mom’s always said I’ve got a heart of gold, told her i got a clothing brand but she don’t even know how many guns I’ve sold.
The release of Bando Diaries is accompanied by crisp visuals of YP and Odumodu in the city of Abuja. In the video, both rappers symbolically lay claim to the capital city, looking at home with other members of what we assume to be the Bando.
