Barely two months since his arrival on scene, Ruger debuts himself in different phases by way of a six-track EP titled Pandemic; an ode to his journey from obscurity to potential fame, while riding the high the reception he got from preceding singles, One Shirt and Ruger, have given him.

Opening up with the earlier released titular, Ruger, Pandemic is proof that right before our eyes, musicians evolved with innovation in a period during which creative draughts became the order of the day. Being a metaphor for what his music presents as, Pandemic also speaks to Ruger’s versatile dispensation and how this has affected the distribution of his music. He doesn’t stick to one path, and its telling. Right after Ruger, he switches but tale and tempo on Abu Dhabi, on which he attempts to serenade us with a Fuji tinged story about his lusty desires. Bow, the ensuing track is another off tangent track that finds him tooting his horn after which he reverts to the romance status quo on Monalisa. Closers, Bounce and Yekpa, are just as diverse as the others.

As expected, Pandemic is an ear grabber that also serves as a gateway to Ruger’s multifaceted niche, one we appreciate and that appreciates his range.
