The Lagos Comic Convention has taken its place as one of the hubs for the expression of Nigeria’s creative arts. The comic convention started as a medium for the expression of unique forms of conceptual art. Fashioned very much like international comic conventions, Lagos comic con hopes to involve the Nigerian audience in a world of color and dreams.
Since its inception in 2012, the Lagos Comic Convention has sought to bring together comics, games, animation, films, books and virtual reality under one festival roof. The event, organized by Mustardseed Communication International, is one fit for a true lover of art and comics, even more so, stories and characters that showcase African culture.
With the theme; “Fearless Lagos” this year’s 8th edition of Lagos Comic convention promises to be the biggest yet, featuring activities like; cosplays, exhibitions, competitions and awards. With the concept of this year’s event one that hopes to provide a networking avenue for “geeks” to market and engage in the sharing of pop culture. To crown it all, this year, for the first time, The Lagos Comic Con will be a three day event, spanning from the 19th-21st of September.
