Reinventing oneself is a huge part of being an artist. It is essential that artists undergo technical evolution to their sounds in the bid to keep their listeners happy and never rinse a certain sound. Only sparsely releasing music in 2018, it seems Tekno has undergone some evolution as he displays sensitivity to the plight of women in a patriarchal society like Nigeria with his latest release, a neo-highlife ode tagged Woman.
Tekno doesn’t hold back as he vocalizes his thoughts about forcing women to sit back and conform today. While his politics and feminism still need to grow, its an interesting look at his views and support of women who continue to go through different human rights violations in Nigeria daily.
