As the Nigerian ascension to the high table of the musical world continues, Davido offers a new boon for the movement with his performance on Teyana Taylor’s Killa off her latest body of work, The Album. This makes sense in the context of his continued success stateside as embodied by the latest milestones of his classic singles: If and Fall.
For Taylor, this will mark her second bite at the Nigerian cherry following her performance on the remix to Seyi Shay’s Gimme Love. The album will mark the third in her discography and a follow up to 2018’s Keep the Same Energy (KTSE) with appearances coming from the likes of Big Sean, Quavo, Lauryn Hill, Kehlani, Missy Elliott and more. That said, Davido more than holds his own on the slow and sensual Killa allowing Taylor to set the tone and offering background vocals before delivering a sung verse of his own after which Taylor returns to close the song out.
