It’s still early days for Tiwa Savage in her new home, Universal Music Group, but already the Superstar has leveraged her international affiliation which has resulted in a Hollywood saturated single in 49:99, several topnotch media appearances and now a spot with French Montana and Wale on the remix of American Rapper, Saweetie’s popular single, My Type which has several versions including one with Jhene Aiko and City Girls.
French Montana leads the quartet on the already popular remix, followed by Saweetie’s original second verse, an Afrobeat inspired verse delivered by Tiwa that sees her smoothly fusing elements of her local genre with Hip-hop, while Wale brings the bass-heavy track to an end.
My Type remix is one of many international collaborations to come for Tiwa Savage and though not entirely extensive, her verse makes for an audacious starter.
