Tiwa Savage Stamina

Following her late 2022 release that saw her collaborate with Asake and Magicsticks on Loaded and a recent feature on the remix of Spyro’s Who Is Your Guy, Tiwa Savage has released her new single Stamina. Stamina was produced by serial hit producer, the king of sounds and blues, Magicsticks who has been responsible for Asake’s indelible run since the beginning of last year.

On her 2023 debut track Stamina, Tiwa Savage is carrying a message of consent and hopeless romance. On the chorus she sings “so many things I can do to you, if only you give me the permission to, give me the permission to show you the thing I carry.” The record features the similar amapiano elements and harmonies that Magicsticks is known for infusing in many of his recent productions.

Tiwa Savage’s sensational vocals on the song’s intro and chorus set the pace for Young John’s carefully calculated delivery on a record with an upbeat and groovy swing to it. Ayra Starr eventually comes in with a captivating verse that is sure to leave listeners dazzled. Stamina is a mellifluous blend of Afropop, Afrobeats, and Amapiano. On a collaboration not many people saw coming, Tiwa Savage managed to recruit the Mavin Records and Chocolate City artists on a record that is already being met with positive reception.

The song’s lyrics explore themes of resilience and determination. Tiwa Savage and Young John sing about the need to keep going, no matter what hardships one is facing. Ayra Starr encourages listeners to stay focused and fight for what they want. Magicsticks’ production provides the perfect backdrop to the lyrics, with its uplifting and energetic beat. Ultimately, Tiwa Savage’s Stamina is a powerful anthem that celebrates hard work and resilience while subtly shedding light on consent and its importance. It’s a song that will dominate the Nigerian airwaves, but it also carries a message that can be heard around the world.
