In October 2022, Toni Dada released his single titled PDA. He made his introduction to the scene with a smash single, a mellow Afrobeats track titled Candy featuring Zarion Uti. Just before the pandemic, he released his self-titled debut 4-track EP Toni, and his standout track, the more upbeat Jojo, which showed his ability to record and release bangers. PDA is his first release following his 2 year hiatus since the debut EP in 2020. PDA is a drill and R&B fusion song where he sings about his liking for public displays of affection. It follows him and a love interest (Rose), played by Funmbi Toye in the video, on a day out not letting people get in the way of our intimacy. This visualizer follows Toni’s PDA performance Aktivated TV.

Directed by Kelenna Ogboso, the eclectic visuals are both alien and vibrant. The story kicks off with toni dada and Rose (Funmbi Tonye) arriving at the movie theater where there’s no front desk staff. They sneak into the theater and after a while of quietly watching the movie break out into a series of public displays of affection. PDA is a sanguine and flowery summer jam, which also takes shape as an evergreen lovers’ rock. “I don’t care who’s watching girl, I want some PDA, ‘cause you looking so good my girl like it’s your birthday” toni dada sings.

The superb styling was handled by Cosmas Ojemen & Nez Anazodo of Headb0rn Studios, and the video was produced by Adedayo Laketu, Nasir Ahmed Achile and toni dada. PDA is distributed by Lagos based music technology company Ejoya Music.
