Blaisebeatz Breaks Down 5 Standout Records From His Discography

Adekunle Gold’s Something Different is one of the biggest Pop records in the country at the moment. The record which can be interpreted as a mark in the artist’s evolution from a more alternative folk sound towards a more mainstream pop sound was produced by Blaisebeatz. Known for his “OBAH” or “It’s Blaise on the Beat Baby” tags, the Producer originally known as “Larryblaise” started out playing instruments in church and as part of a live band while based in the North.

His initial breakthrough as a record producer came in 2018 when he produced three tracks off LAX’s debut album, RASAKING titled Money, Wassup and Slow Whine which featured acts like Duncan Mighty and Maleek Berry. More success would come in 2019, Blaisebeatz with credits earned on Skiibi’s Omaema, Tekno’s Suru,  Jay Breeze’s Eh Oh Ah which featured Jay Breeze, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal and Mystro, Chike’s Out of Love. 2020 has come with the aforementioned Adekunle Gold record, Terri’s Kill Man, King Perry’s My Darlina and Jigga. He also has a stream of unreleased songs with Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Tekno, Reekado Banks and DJ Neptune.

We asked the Producer to tell us the definitive story behind five of his favorite productions.

Something Different- Adekunle Gold

At the time I was working in this apartment in Lagos with Reekado Banks. This day, Adekunle Gold came in and we vibed to two songs. Something Different was one of them. The next day I had another session with Adekunle Gold at his place where we wrapped up the song and it became a smash.

Bless Me- Spyz

The song was initially produced by Young Jonn but Spyz brought it to me cos he didn’t like the production. He said that it needed reproduction so we made another beat and played some live instruments on it and that was how Bless Me was made.

Suru– Tekno

Tekno was in LA at the time when he called and told me that he had a song that he thought was lacking something. He asked me to reproduce it and I set out to work on it resulting in what we would hear.

Omaema– Skiibi

This came right after Sensima. He was looking for follow up single so he wanted to see what I had. So I made this beat and took it to his house. He went wild and ran on the beat then we mixed and mastered that night and dropped the song in the morning.

Eh oh Ah– Jaybreeze featuring Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal & Mystro

I was playing the beat on an Instagram live video when Jaybreeze (who happens to be my neighbor in Lagos) and Tiwa who were in America at the time reached out to me that they wanted the beat. I sent it to them in America and they laid the vocals and sent it back. Jaybreeze then decided to have Mystro and Wande Coal on the song.
