Liverpool have closed a deal to sign Belgium and Lille youngster, Divock Origi effective in the summer transfer window. However, they’re intent on bringing him this month and are offering Lille a rumoured €6 million to make this happen.

Newcastle’s Hatem Ben Arfa who has had a checkered time in England will be moving to the South of France joining Ligue 1 side, Nice on a free. It seems his loan to Hull was terminated and his contract with Newcastle was mutually terminated.

West Ham defender Winston Reid has a contract due for expiry in the summer in a saga that’s slightly reminiscent of Gary Cahill’s move to Chelsea from Bolton. Hammers manager, Sam Allardyce has admitted he doesn’t see Reid renewing his contract suggesting West Ham might be forced to cash in this window.

Speaking of Chelsea, 3rd choice goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer is joining Leicester City on a free transfer.

Swansea are also having a busy period on the transfer front stemming from the desire of two of their strikers to leave the Welsh side. Bafetimbi Gomis is frustrated with the reneged promise to play with two forwards. Wilfried Bony on the other hand is interested in making a move to champions, Manchester City and with the £19 million transfer clause in his last contract rendered invalid by his signing a new contract earlier in the season, it seems he’s taking the goodwill highway asking that his Champions League dreams be respected.

There’s also talk that City defender, Micah Richards is being looked at by Chelsea. Richards currently on loan at Fiorentina is out of contract in the summer and it seems Chelsea will be keen on taking him on to bolster their defence and also fulfill their homegrown quota.

Another January, Another French midfielder leaving Newcastle United for Paris Saint Germain. Following Yohan Cabaye is Moussa Sissoko who’s expected to complete a move to PSG over the next couple of days. It is believed that this move will allow youngster, Adrien Rabiot move to Tottenham Hotspurs on loan till the summer.

Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk has been linked with a Premier League since the summer. Suggestions are that Arsenal have a long held interest in him but this could be curtailed by the rumour that Sunderland have made an £8million bid.
