Seyi Akinlade, professionally known as UAX, has released a new single Evergreen on April 14, 2023. Known for exploring his personal experiences through music, UAX exudes optimism and resilience in this hit.
“Shey na luck, shey na timing,” the singer croons in reference to the kickoff of his artistic journey in December 2022 with the debut SAFE after earning some credit as one of Nigeria’s top video directors.

Evergreen takes me to a place of gratitude and on the chorus, you hear me say “My energy, never for no hater or no enemy- lining up, they wanna see the end of me- but I’ve been in the gutter turning evergreen” which reminds me of my resilience, a feeling I hope it invoke in anyone that listens to it.
While growing up, UAX was passionate about art and started out as a dancer before getting into acting, stage production and directing. He did some photography before eventually settling into music as a full-fledged Afrobeats singer. He describes his sounds as chiefly RnB but he is open to exploring other genres.
Produced by Chillz, Evergreen is UAX’s way of reaffirming his rise on the music scene, and he looks forward to making more music while relishing his steady progress.
