Businesswoman-turned-filmmaker, Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, has released the trailer for her directorial debut and highly anticipated Nigerian-Indian love story, Namaste Wahala.
The film, which unites two of the biggest film industries—Nollywood and Bollywood—follows a Nigerian-Indian couple, whose plan to spend forever together is threatened by their cultural differences. Daryani Ahuja says the film blends the richness and vibrancy of both cultures and will make you cry, laugh, and aww.
An Epic romance like never before
Daryani Ahuja credits growing up in Nigeria and Nigerians’ love for Bollywood as the inspiration for Namaste Wahala. “I am Indian but I have lived in Nigeria my whole life. Everyone loves Bollywood and Nollywood, so I thought, ‘how is it that no one has done a love story between the two?” she says to Aisha Salaudeen of CNN.
Namaste Wahala stars Ini Dinma Okojie and Ruslaan Mumtaz in lead roles, they are supported by Joke Silva, Richard Mofe Damijo, Sujata Sega, MI Abaga and Broda Shaggi. It opens in cinemas nationwide on April 24, 2020. Watch the trailer below.
