President Bola Tinubu has directed the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) to investigate Meta, Alphabet’s Google, X, and unnamed generative AI platforms over allegations that they have exploited Nigerian journalism to train AI models without payment, and abused their dominance of the country’s digital advertising market.
