Watch Bez Talks The Light Album and Musical Inspiration on NdaniTV’s ‘The Mix’

On NdaniTV’s The Mix, Bez discusses his latest album The Light¸ creative process and musical inspirations, which include Fela Kuti and the British band Coldplay. On Fela, Bez says, “one of the people that I have been inspired by will be Fela Kuti. Why? He took normal instrumentation to create a brand new sound, which is Afrobeat and I think that’s genius.” The singer also talked about Coldplay’s stage presence and humility.

On his creative process, Bez says the sounds come to him first, then he works them into music. The Light is Bez’s third album, it is his most expansive sonically; the alternative singer experimented with more sounds including Afrobeats.
