Burna Boy has made history once more as he managed to secure two nominations at the 65th Grammy Awards on Tuesday, November 16, 2022, thereby tying with Afrobeat legend Femi Kuti as the most-nominated Nigerian artiste in Grammy history with six nominations. Burna Boy was nominated for Best Global Music Performance for his hit single, Last Last and his latest album, Love, Damini also got nominated for Best Global Music Album.
Burna’s nomination for the 2023 Grammys makes it 3 times that the singer has been nominated. His previous two albums African Giant and Twice As Tall were also nominated for the 62nd and 63rd Grammy Awards respectively, with the latter winning Best Global Music Album in 2021.
Burna Boy is nominated in the Best Global Music Album category alongside Berklee Indian Ensemble, Angelique Kidjo & Ibrahim Maalouf, Anoushka Shankar, Metropole Orkest & Jules Buckley featuring Manu Delago and Masa Tukami.
